Parliament, Monday, 3 August 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Forestry, Fisheries and Environment will tomorrow receive a briefing from the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, on the reported failure to enforce environmental laws around SASOL operations and the victimization of the whistleblower who reported non - compliance and law enforcement neglect.

The committee will also be briefed by the department on the update on all actions taken in response to protected disclosures made from 2018 to 2026, including investigative steps, enforcement decisions and reasons for any delays. It will also consider its draft Third Term Programme for 2026.
