Media Alert: COGTA Committee to Meet with Msunduzi Municipality Leadership

Parliament, Tuesday, 8 October 2024 – The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will meet tomorrow with the leadership of the Msunduzi Local Municipality. The committee is on a week-long oversight visit to several municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal.

Tomorrow, it will interrogate issues related to governance, bulk infrastructure challenges and service delivery issues related to access to water, among others. Later in the afternoon, committee members will hold a community meeting in the Pietermaritzburg Town Hall on the theme of access to reliable water.

Time: 08:00 – 12:00

Community engagement
Time: 13:00 – 16:00
Venue: Pietermaritzburg Town Hall

Site Visit to Water Treatment Plants – Kuzwayo and Vulindlela Reservoirs.
Time: 16:00 – 18:00
All municipality stakeholders are welcome to attend the meeting and raise issues there.
