Parliament, Wednesday, 29 April 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will meet with the Commission on Khoi-San Matters tomorrow to discuss the Commission’s mandate and functions.
The meeting takes place ahead of the committee’s processing of the revised Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders Bill. The committee will also receive a progress report from the department on the implementation of the recommendations of the Convention with Khoi and San communities held last year.
In addition, the department will receive an update on the statistics of the 2025 summer initiation season and the outcomes of the stakeholder meeting on customary initiation.
