Parliament, Thursday, 21 May 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Basic Education will tomorrow receive briefings from departments of Basic Education (DBE); Higher Education and Training (DHET); Employment and Labour (DEL); and Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) on various issues.
These issues include: ECD practitioner training and development – streamlining education provisioning (DBE, DHET and DEL programmes); three-stream model link (DBE, DHET and DEL); and support for the senior phase, including learner transitioning and exit strategies for students and graduates in terms of improving the quality of life for learners with disabilities (careers/talents/adaptive tools) (DWYPD).
The meeting will be held on the virtual platforms and YouTube.
