Parliament, Friday, 23 January 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Basic Education will undertake a week-long oversight visit to Limpopo from 25 to 30 January 2026 to assess infrastructure state of readiness at more than 20 schools, focusing on the Mopani, Sekhukhune and Capricorn education districts.
The oversight programme will commence with a briefing session involving key stakeholders in the basic education sector, including the MEC for Education and departmental officials, traditional leaders, school governing body associations, organised labour and the South African Principals’ Associations. The meeting will take place at the Fairview Hotel and Spa in Tzaneen on Sunday, 25 January 2026 at 19:30.
