Parliament, Monday, 1 June 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Agriculture will tomorrow, Tuesday, 2 June 2026, receive briefings from the Department of Agriculture and the Land Bank on progress made in implementing recommendations from the committee’s 2025 oversight visit to the North West Province. The committee will also receive updates on the implementation of the Blended Finance Scheme (BFS) and the AgriBEE Fund.
Members of the committee are expected to assess progress made in addressing challenges identified during the oversight visit, including support provided to distressed farming enterprises and communal farming projects. The committee will also consider executive responses to recommendations contained in its oversight report.
The meeting forms part of the committee’s ongoing oversight of government interventions aimed at supporting emerging and black commercial farmers, improving access to agricultural finance, strengthening food security and advancing agricultural transformation.
