MEDIA ALERT: AD HOC COMMITTEE ON AMENDING SECTION 25 OF THE CONSTITUTION TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS IN WESTERN CAPE
Parliament, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 – The Ad Hoc Committee to Initiate and Introduce Legislation Amending Section 25 of the Constitution will on Friday commence with public hearings in the Western Cape.
The committee will travel in two groups. One group will visit the Southern Cape area and the other group will visit Cape Town and the West Coast region. The committee has visited all the other provinces to obtain public input on how the Constitution should be amended to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation.
