Parliament, Wednesday, 30 November 2022 – President Cyril Ramaphosa will appear in the National Council of Provinces’ (NCOP) hybrid plenary sitting tomorrow at 2 pm to provide oral replies to questions from Members of the House.

Oral question and answer sessions with the President, Deputy President, and the Cabinet Ministers are scheduled at least once a quarter during session time within Parliament’s annual programme. These sessions are one of the mechanisms Parliament uses to hold the Executive to account - as stipulated in Section 92(2) of the Constitution that Cabinet Members are accountable collectively and individually to Parliament for the exercise of powers and performance of their functions.

Meanwhile, at 8.30 am, the National Assembly (NA) will hold its last Programming Committee meeting of the fourth term parliamentary programme. Among other matters, the committee meeting will consider the draft programme of Parliament, committee reports, and Bills before the House.

Immediately after the virtual programming committee meeting, the NA will hold a hybrid plenary sitting starting at 10 am to consider committee reports that include:

  1. Report of the Standing Committee on Appropriations on Special Appropriation Bill [B24 - 2022] (no debate).
  • First Reading debate: Special Appropriation Bill [B24 – 2022].
  • Second Reading: Special Appropriation Bill [B24 – 2022] (no debate).
