Parliament, Thursday, 20 August 2026 – Parliament, in collaboration with the Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF), will host a two-day high-level engagement on oversight of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
The engagement aims to strengthen Parliament's oversight capacity on SRHR issues by equipping Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff and civil society organisations with practical knowledge, tools and insights. It will include discussions on the role of Parliament and civil society in advancing SRHR.
Discussions will equip Members of Parliament and civil society organisations with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct SRHR oversight.
Participants expected to be part of the engagement include members of various oversight committees of Parliament, representatives of the SADC-PF, Sonke Gender Justice, the Sexual and Reproductive Justice Coalition (SRJC) and the Parliamentary Budget Office.
