Parliament, Sunday 13 February 2022 – The National Assembly (NA) and the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will hold joint sittings on Monday and Tuesday to debate the State of the Nation Address (SONA), which President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered at the Cape Town City Hall on 10 February. The President will reply to the debate at a joint sitting on Wednesday.

The debate and President's reply will take the form of hybrid sittings. In line with COVID-19 regulations, a limited number of MP's and the media will be physically present at the City Hall, and others will link up on a virtual platform.

Wednesday's reply of the President on 16 February will mark an end to the status of the City Hall as the precincts of Parliament, and the business of Parliament will return to the regular precincts of Parliament at Parliament Street.

Members of the media who wish to cover the debate and the President's reply are advised that there will be no special accreditation for these sittings, as they are the extension of SONA 2022 - the issued SONA 2022 accreditation tags will apply. 

All the media accredited to cover SONA 2022 physically at the Cape Town City Hall will be allowed to use their issued accreditation tags. 
Please note that space will be limited, and Parliament will allocate media on a first-come, first-serve basis.
