Parliament, Monday, 03 September 2018 – The Portfolio Committee on Human Settlements will tomorrow engage relevant stakeholders on the Property Practitioner Bill [B 21-2018] to seek their input on the Bill, as part of Parliament’s public participation model.

The Bill seeks, among other things, to provide for the creation of the office of the Property Practitioners Ombudsman and to repeal the Estate Agency Affairs Act of 1976. The stakeholder engagements are intended to strengthen the Bill so that it is fit for purpose.

Some of the stakeholders set to present before the committee include the Mortgage Origination Regulatory Council of South Africa (MORCSA), the Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF), Real Estate Business Owners of SA (REBOSA), among many others.
