Parliament, Monday, 19 June 2017 – The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs will tomorrow convene a meeting to receive briefings on various issues within its oversight purview.

On the agenda for the meeting is a briefing by the Department of Home Affairs on the process undertaken by the department during the naturalisation application processes of the Gupta family. The Committee will also receive a detailed report on the recent closure of the Mbombela office of the department. Furthermore, the Committee will receive a report on progress on discussions between the department and unions on the disagreement with regard to weekend opening hours.

Lastly, the Committee will receive a briefing from State Information Technology Agency on progress made on network problems experienced by the DHA.
