Parliament, Saturday, 23 November 2019 – The Portfolio Committee on Health will tomorrow hold public hearings on the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill in Umzimkhulu, KwaZulu-Natal.

The NHI is the financing system that will ensure all South African citizens and legal long-term residents are provided with essential healthcare, regardless of their employment status and ability to make a direct monetary contribution to the NHI Fund.

Members of the public and interested organisations are invited to make oral submissions at the public hearings. The hearings in KwaZulu-Natal will continue until Monday.
