Parliament, Tuesday, 12 May 2020 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, has learnt with shock the passing on of Dr Clarence Mini.
Dr Mini who was the Chairperson of the Council of Medical Schemes died as a result of Covid-19.

Dr Dhlomo said: “I do not remember a South African HIV conference where Dr Mini was not part of us, we have been together in many platforms, in the international community in important conferences of TB and HIV. His main desire was to see a better healthcare in South Africa.”

According to Dr Dhlomo, the late Dr Mini has been instrumental in both the private and public healthcare sectors in the country, and he always ensured that he makes a meaningful contribution in ensuring the existence of a solid, and stable health system in South Africa. “He leaves an indelible mark behind which will live long as his legacy”

Dr Dhlomo said: “We express our deepest condolences to his wife, children, family and friends. We will miss his expertise, visionary leadership and guidance. May his soul rest in peace.”
