There is also a range of committee meetings scheduled, culminating in a meeting of the South African Speakers' Forum.

Parliament’s Library Service, in partnership with external stakeholders, will host the Intergenerational Dialogue titled "Youth Voices, Reading and Democracy". The event will reflect on the legacy of the 1976 student uprising and its contribution to democracy in South Africa. The event will also mark the official launch of the National Library of South Africa's Reading Ambassadors Programme. The dialogue will take place in the Good Hope Chamber tomorrow, Monday, 8 June 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00.

On Tuesday at 14:00, the National Assembly will hold a plenary sitting to consider a range of statements, committee reports and decisions. Among the key items on the programme is a statement by the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment on the signing of the Beneficiation Scheme Framework Agreement. The House will also consider a report of the Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services on its study tour to the United Kingdom, as well as reports of the Joint Standing Committee on Defence and the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans. Members will further consider a report of the Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development on the appointment of the Small Enterprise Ombud.

In addition, the Assembly will consider determinations on the remuneration of public office-bearers and members of independent constitutional institutions for the 2025/26 financial year, based on reports of the relevant parliamentary committees.

The Forum comprises the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, their deputies and the Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the nine provincial legislatures.
