Parliament, Saturday, 14 March 2020 – A delegation of the Ad Hoc Committee to Initiate and Introduce Legislation Amending Section 25 of the Constitution in order to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation will tomorrow, Sunday 15 March 2020, hold the last of the Gauteng leg of public hearings to receive inputs on the Constitution Eighteenth Amendment Bill.

In 2018, the Constitutional Review Committee (CRC) focussed on evaluating South African citizens’ opinions on the desirability of changing Section 25 of the Constitution. The Ad Hoc Committee’s focus is on how exactly this should be done and the wording to be used.
