Parliament, Tuesday, 21 August 2018 – The Constitutional Review Committee will tomorrow (22 August) meet to finalise the selection of participants for oral representation. The selection of participants will be limited to individuals or organisations who made written submissions before the start of public hearing in all the provinces. The closing date for written submissions was 15 June 2018.

The committee was instructed by the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces to ascertain whether a review of section 25 of the constitution and other clauses is necessary, to make it possible for the state to expropriate land in the public interest without compensation, and propose the necessary constitutional amendments where necessary.
