Parliament, Wednesday 25 January 2018 – The Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (CWP)-Africa Region is holding a two-day regional workshop on “Mechanisms to Strengthen Gender Equality” on 25 - 26 January 2018 in Durban.

The House Chairperson for Internal Arrangements in the National Assembly and Chairperson of the CWP-Africa Region, Ms Thoko Didiza, will lead Parliament’s delegation at this gathering. The workshop is aimed finding sustainable solutions to challenges facing women including gender based violence, women economic empowerment, the fourth industrial revolution as representation of women in Parliament.

The South African delegation of Members of Parliament includes the Chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Ms Lindiwe Maseko, Ms Grace Tseke and Ms Bridget Masango. There are a number of experts who will present and engage with women parliamentarians from across the continent. They include Ms Irene Charnley, Mr Andile Ngcaba, Ms Tabisa Shange, Ms Vuyo Mahlathi and Mr Mbuyiselo Botha.
