Parliament, Wednesday, 3 June 2020 –The Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development, together with the Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Economic Development, Small Business Development, Tourism, Employment and Labour, will hold a joint virtual meeting this afternoon, from 15:00 to 18:00, to be briefed on two agenda items by the Department of Small Business Development.
The first item is the overview of Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) in distress across all the sectors and provinces, and the second is progress on the implementation of Covid-19 intervention measures for SMMEs and Cooperatives, including business registrations on the SMME South Africa website, business growth and resilience facility, debt relief fund, and the Small Enterprise Finance Agency debt restructuring facility.
