Parliament, Friday, 1 May 2020 – The Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour, and the Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Economic Development, Small Business, Tourism, Employment and Labour will this afternoon hold a joint virtual meeting to receive an update from the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).

The UIF will update the committees on its performance during the lockdown period. The committees are following on their commitment to monitor UIF’s implementation of the benefit scheme that the government made available to employers, through the UIF, in order to keep companies afloat while COVID-19 related lockdown regulations are in existence.
