Parliament, Monday, 5 March 2018 – The Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises received a letter on Friday (2 March) from the Minister of Home Affairs Minister, Mr Malusi Gigaba requesting a reasonable extension to appear before the inquiry into the mismanagement of state funds in state-owned enterprises. Subsequent to the minister’s letter, the committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled.

The Chairperson for the inquiry, Ms Zukiswa Rantho, said: “I decided to send the letter to the members of the committee to inform them about the Minister’s request instead of waiting until Tuesday for the scheduled meeting. The committee will deliberate and discuss the Minister’s request at its next scheduled meeting.”
