Parliament, Wednesday, 7 March 2018 – The Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises tasked with the inquiry into the mismanagement of state funds in state-owned enterprises has agreed to the request for a reasonable extension from the Minister of Home Affairs, Mr Malusi Gigaba, to prepare for his appearance before the inquiry.

Mr Gigaba sent the letter to the committee on 2 March. The minister was scheduled to appear on 6 March and the meeting was cancelled after his request was received. In his letter, Mr Gigaba asked for 10 days to prepare for his appearance.

The committee has accepted the Minister’s request. The office of the Chairperson will send an invitation to the Minister to appear on 13 March.
