Parliament, Wednesday, 16 September 2020 – The Select Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Water and Sanitation will tomorrow, Thursday 17 September, conclude its week-long oversight visit in Mpumalanga by visiting the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality.

The aim of the visit to the Dr JS Moroka Municipality is to engage internal and external municipal stakeholders in order to assess the municipal audit outcomes, the support provided to the municipality, and the development and implementation of municipal audit action plan.

Furthermore, following the release of the municipal audit outcomes in April, the committee will, as part of ensuring executive accountability and facilitating parliamentary oversight, consider the audit action plans developed by municipalities.
