Doris Eunice Mpapane serves in the National Assembly since February 2010, with extensive experience in Social Transformation, Peace and Security, Governance and Public Leadership. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Oversight Committee on The Presidency and Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Rules.
Over the years of her Parliamentary career, Mpapane has been the longest serving Deputy Chief Whip of the ANC in Parliament, from the 20th of June 2013 to March 2026. From 2010 to 2013, she served in Potfolio Committees on Human Settlements and Transport. As Deputy Chief Whip(DCW) she served in many committees as follows: The NA Rules Committee, Joint Rules Committee, Subcommittee on Rules, Chief Whips Forum, National Assembly Programming Committee (NAPC) Whippery meetings. In addition to her responsibilities, she also serves in the Joint Standing Committee on Financial Management of Parliament, Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence, Members Support Forum & the Parliamentary Group on International Relations.
Hon. Mpapane is a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). She serves on the following committees and bodies on the global stage:
- Committee on the Human Rights of Parliamentarians
- Standing Committee on Peace and International Security
- Forum of Women Parliamentarians
Beyond Parliament, Mpapane played significant leadership roles within the African National Congress(ANC) , the ANC Youth League and ANC Women’s League. From 2012-2026 she served as a ANC PEC member, ANC Women’s League PEC member from 2006-2016. ANC REC,ANC Youth League Regional Treasurer from 2002 to 2004. ANC branch Secretary from 2002-2008.
Mpapane holds a BA Honours in Management from WITS, an Advanced Diploma in Governance and Public Leadership from WITS. A Certificate in Governance and Leadership from UNIISA. Mpapane is in the process of pursuing her Master’s degree after taking a break from her studies.
