JOB SUMMARY
Parliament of South Africa is seeking a capable and dynamic Policy Analyst to serve as the Section Manager: International Relations Policy Analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high quality policy research, advice and analysis to Parliament on international issues.
The Section Manager: International Relations Policy Analysis plays a key role in Parliamentary International Relations Policy Formulation, Monitoring and Analysis.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Strategic Planning and management of the Section: International Relations Policy Analysis
- Parliamentary International Relations Policy Formulation
- Parliamentary International Relations Policy Monitoring and Analysis
- Report Writing and Liaison
- Planning
- Human Resources Management
- Financial Management
To qualify, you must have:
- Master’s degree in international relations/ political science/ political studies/ Law/ Economics (NQF Level 9) and/or relevant qualification
- A minimum of 8 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be managerial experience.
- This position is subject to a 6 months’ probation period.
You must also demonstrate:
- Knowledge of Parliamentary Service policies and directives
- Knowledge and understanding of Parliament's management systems
- Sound organisational and administrative skills
- Sound oral and written communication skills
- Sound interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer literacy
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Political awareness and sensitivity
- High integrity, candour and credibility with political leadership and senior management.
- Ability to maintain high work standards under sustained pressure and frequent deadlines
- Report Writing
