JOB SUMMARY
Parliament is seeking a capable individual to serve as the Unit Manager: Sound and Vision within the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Sound and Vision Unit and ensuring adequate technical support and coverage of all Parliamentary meetings and events. This includes ensuring live broadcasts, recordings, multimedia presentations, and AV Technical support services across various platforms in compliance with industry standards and best practices.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Broadcasting and AV infrastructure support
- Parliament Broadcasting Archive Management
- Financial Management
- Human Resources Management
- Operational Management
- Health and Safety Management
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 plus a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Broadcast/Communication technology/Audio Visual Technology/Electronic/Computer Engineering or related qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant audio-visual or technical broadcast management experience within a similar environment.
- Registration as a Certified Broadcast Networking Engineer (CBNE) or Electronics Engineer would be advantageous.

- Proficiency in managing budgets and financial forecasting, with an understanding of cost optimisation

- Excellent presentation and report writing skills

- Strong leadership acumen and the ability to effectively lead teams through change
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality

- Excellent judgement and decision-making abilities

- Excellent broadcasting and AV infrastructure support, design and implementation skills
