JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will provide professional, objective research, information, administrative, coordination, logistical, and liaison support to the Secretary to Parliament (STP) to ensure that the STP receives the appropriate and adequate support timeously in executing his/her responsibilities.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Operations Management Support
- Information and Records Management
- Research and information gathering
- Technical Administrative Support
- Co-ordination, logistical and Liaison support
To qualify, you must have:
Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/ Business Science/ Public Administration/ or related qualification [NQF Level 7] plus five years Executive Assistance experience.
You must also demonstrate:
Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent planning and organising skills and excellent information gathering skills
- Results driven and excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Framework and FMPPLA in South Africa
- Knowledge of database development and records management practices and principles
- Knowledge of National Treasury regulations, norms and standards and understanding of Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Performance and Reporting within the Public Sector
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation and controls within the public finance environment
- Knowledge of the government in South Africa, its structures and administration
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge and understanding of the sensitivities within a political environment
- Excellent computer literacy skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Oracle
- Knowledge of the policies, procedures, structures, systems and directives in Parliament and the appropriate protocols
- Ability to work within a highly pressured environment.
COMMENTS:
- The incumbent must work very closely and collaboratively with the Personal Secretary, office Manager, and other team members supporting the STP to ensure seamless, integrated, and effective support is provided to the STP at all times
- The incumbent is expected to often work extra-ordinary hours and in a highly pressurised environment
- Traveling will be required from time to time.
