JOB SUMMARY
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a secure environment on the Parliamentary precincts and for taking the necessary steps to meet these requirements.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Monitor entry and egress of Members of Parliament, officials and guests within the Parliamentary Chamber
- Identify and issue appropriate identification or accreditation passes
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems
- Perform both external and internal patrols
- Respond to security situations and incidents
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE:
- This position requires a minimum qualification of Grade 12/ NQF Level 4 with Security Certificates.
- Must have the minimum security clearance
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
IN ADDITION, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMOSTRATE THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND JOB-RELATED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- A knowledge of security services encompassing security technology, security practices and procedures
- Physical fitness is the prerequisite
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to follow up on outstanding issues
- Ability to work in a team
- Good interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
