JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be Responsible for controlling and supervising the effective sourcing of catering produce, goods and services and enabling accurate inventory management and stock control in support of the daily operational running of Parliament restaurants and cafeteria. Also provides catering system support to in relation to inventory management and point of sales

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Inventory Management
  • Stock Control
  • Catering goods and services buying and purchasing
  • Catering Systems Support
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Staff Supervision

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Grade 12/ NQF Level 4, and a National Diploma in Supply Chain / Procurement or related qualification at NQF level 6
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience, with experience in the hospitality industry as an advantage and a minimum 2 years proven supervisory experience.

IN ADDITION, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMOSTRATE THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND JOB-RELATED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • An aptitude for figures, finance, budgets
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and requirements
  • Knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes
  • Knowledge of the purchasing of fresh produce and catering consumables
  • Excellent computer literacy skills
  • Knowledge of point of sales processes and procedures.
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organise
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the professional cookery in a hospitality environment
