Parliament is composed of two houses: the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces. Each house has distinct roles and functions, as outlined in the Constitution, and they work together to promote constitutional values such as human dignity, non-racialism and non-sexism, human rights and freedom.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptualisation, planning, and execution of high-quality, multi-platform content and production across multimedia channels as well as the coordination and management of those platforms. This role involves the full spectrum of audio-visual production, from pre-production to post-production strategy and brand guidelines.

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST HAVE:
- Matric certificate (NQF4), National Diploma in Communications, Multi-media Productions / Digital Media Design / Film and Video production or related qualification (NQF level 6)
- 5 Years’ relevant experience in digital communication, film and video productions and multimedia productions.
IN ADDITION, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMOSTRATE THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND JOB-RELATED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge and Technical Skills
- Strong visual sense with an ability to advise on display, set design, and visual composition.
- Advanced multimedia production skills, including directing, editing, scripting, and packaging.
- Good knowledge of the South African Broadcasting Code of Conduct and relevant copyright and data protection laws.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling visual and written content. (complex policy or legislative topics into accessible visual content for a broad audience)
- Proficiency in radio and television production, including live broadcasts and pre-recorded content.
- Familiarity with non-linear editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro,etc).
- Operational knowledge of digital on-air systems and automation software used in broadcasting environments.
- Understanding of video servers, media asset management, broadcast workflows, and signal routing.
- Sound recording, including mixing, mastering, and voiceover production.
- Ability to plan and execute complex shoots and manage post-production processes under tight deadlines
- Strong project planning and time management skills; ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously.
- Creation of educational and information content of Parliament
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Access for production tracking and documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for scripting, storyboarding, and briefing stakeholders
- A sound understanding of the South African socio-political landscape and institutional sensitivities.
- Knowledge of the unique communication environment within Parliament or similar legislative institutions.
- Knowledge of and understanding of inclusivity, accessibility, and multilingualism in public communication.
