Have Your Say: National State Enterprises Bill [B1- 2024]

The Portfolio Committee on Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation invites the public, organised labour and other interested parties and organisations to submit written and make oral comments on the National State Enterprises Bill [B1-2024]

The Bill seeks to provide for the development of a strategy for national state enterprises; to establish the State Asset Management SOC Ltd; to provide for the State as the sole shareholder of a holding company; to consolidate the State’s shareholdings in national state enterprises; to provide for the powers of the shareholder on behalf of the State; to provide for the phased succession of national state enterprises to the holding company; to provide for the holding company’s powers as shareholder of subsidiaries; to provide for appropriate and effective monitoring and reporting mechanisms over subsidiaries; and other matters connected therewith.

Written submissions on the Bill and enquiries must be directed to Ms Mandy Balie, the Committee Secretary and be addressed to the Portfolio Committee on Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, 3rd Floor (workstation 03/108), 90 Plein Street, Cape Town, 8000, to be emailed to nsebill@parliament.gov.za , by no later than 14 February 2025.
