Call for Public Submissions and Comments

The Standing Committee on Finance and the Select Committee on Finance invites stakeholders and interested parties to submit written submissions on the 2023 Revised Fiscal Framework and Revenue Proposals that will be tabled on 1 November 2023 with the MTBPS. 

The Minister of Finance (the Minister) will table the 2023 Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) before Parliament on 1 November 2023 in terms of section 28 of the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999 (PFMA). This requires the Minister to table multi-year budget projections for revenue, expenditure and key macro-economic projections on an annual basis. The Minister will also meet his obligation under section 6(1) of the Money Bills Amendment Procedure and Related Matters Act 9 of 2009 that requires the Minister to submit to Parliament the MTBPS.

Public hearings will be conducted virtually on Wednesday, 8 November 2023. 

Submissions and your indication on whether you want to make an oral presentation must be received by no later than 12:00 on Monday, 6 November 2023.

Copies of the 2023 MTBPS will be available on 1 November 2021 at www.treasury.gov.za .
