CORE BUSINESS SUPPORT
(5 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing procedural advice to Committees; managing drafting and production of amendments to bills; quality assurance of amended bills; strategic management; facilitation of translation of amendments and bills; quality assurance of Committee reports; managing support staff allocated to Committees; financial management; performance management and management reporting.
Key Performance Areas Include:
- Procedural advice
- Quality assurance of amended lists and amended bills
- Production, updating and publication of standard operating procedures and precedents
- Human resource management and performance
- Operational planning
- Financial management
- Management reporting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years’ relevant experience, 3 of which must be in working with Parliamentary Committees •Experience in Education and Social Services will be an added advantage.
Skills Requirements:
- Knowledge of Parliamentary service policies and directives
- Knowledge and understanding of Parliament’s management systems including performance management
- In-depth understanding of the constitutional framework and parliamentary procedures
- Strong public financial management, organisational and administrative skills
- Sound communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer literacy
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work long and irregular hours
- Ability to deliver under sustained pressure and tight time frames
