Parliament, Tuesday, 1 August 2017 – The Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation will tomorrow undertake a three-day visit to the Southern Cape where it will conduct oversight on, among other things, funding and expenditure from the Department of Sport and Recreation, local facilities, and sport-focused schools.
The Committee will assess the state of facilities, maintenance plans and new facility development plans built from the ring-fenced allocation in the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG). But also will get briefings on the district’s high performance unit services, and the role of local municipalities in sport development.
