Parliament, Tuesday, 21 March 2017 Petition hearings on the Soweto prepaid electricity metering concerns get underway tomorrow (Wednesday, 22 March 2017) at the St John’s Church, Jazzyville in Diepkloof extension 1, from 10 am.

The hearings will be held under the auspices of Parliament’s Committees on Public Enterprises and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA); and will be attended by the more than 50 petitioners, Eskom representatives and Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) as well as ward Councillors of the affected areas.

On Thursday, 23 March, the hearings will be held in Orlando Communal Hall, Mooki Street in Orlando East.  The Committee will then conclude its business in Soweto on Friday, 24 March by visiting the affected areas.
