Parliament, Tuesday, 15 August 2017 –The Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development will today (15 August 2017) focus its oversight visit on small, macro and medium enterprises (SMMEs) in Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, Free State. 

The Committee arrived yesterday in the province, visiting SMMEs under the Xhariep District Municipality. They were: Ke Nako Water Purification cooperative in Trompsburg, Ekasi Kitchen in Jagersfontein, Areiketsese cooperative and Mampotla Trading in Edenburg. 

Today, the Committee will visit six SMMEs, including the Mangaung Fresh Produce, Organic Fertiliser Producer, Computer College, Passenger Transport and Retmil Financial Services in Bloemfontein and, Kopanong Women in Thaba Nchu.

The purpose of the visit is to look into the SMMEs’ level of development, challenges encountered and possible interventions required.
