Parliament, Sunday, 17 January 2021 – The Portfolio Committee on Labour and Employment has learnt with shock the passing of the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) Board Chairperson, Dr Welcome Nzimande
The Chairperson of the committee, Ms Lindelwa Dunjwa, said the committee sends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dr Nzimande.
Ms Dunjwa said, Dr Nzimande who passed on last week, was a competent, level headed and efficient administrator and always ensured professionalism in any assignment he was tasked with.
“We are losing Dr Nzimande’s skills at a time when they are most required in governance of not only the UIF but state owned entities in general.”
Ms Dunjwa added that so many sectors would be impacted by the loss of this people’s giant.
