Parliament, Thursday, 11 February 2020 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Women Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Ms Nonhlanhla Ncube-Ndaba has welcomed the two life terms sentence against Mr Lungile Nxelewa for the brutal murder of his 27 – year – old girlfriend, Ms Keneilwe Pule.
Ms Pule was raped and brutally murdered. Ms Ncube-Ndaba said the wheels of justice are turning against the perpetrators of gender-based violence and femicide.
“The sentencing will provide confidence into the criminal justice system so that victims and survivors of gender-based violence and femicide are able to report cases knowing that their offenders will receive lengthy jail terms”, said Ms Ncube-Ndaba.
