Parliament, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 – The Standing Committee on Appropriations today met to consider and adopt its report on the 2020 Division of Revenue Second Amendment Bill.

The Bill addresses changes to provincial and local government allocations, as well as changes to gazetted conditional grant frameworks and allocations. It also addresses budgetary responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minister of Finance tabled the Division of Revenue Second Amendment Bill in October 2020 during the presentation of the 2020 Medium Term Budget Policy Statement. The Bill was then referred to the committee to facilitate public hearings and the committee invited South Africans to make comments on the Bill.

The report of the committee will be debated in the National Assembly on Friday.
