Parliament, Thursday, 21 April 2022 – The Portfolio Committee on Transport will tomorrow, Friday, embark on the last leg of its weeklong oversight visit in Okhahlamba Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal.

The committee’s visit is informed by a petition from the residents of Okhahlamba about the condition of the road infrastructure, and the negative impact it has had on economic opportunities as well as on tourism in the municipality.

On Saturday, the committee will conclude its oversight programme by visiting Msunduzi Local Municipality where it will inspect and assess the implementation of the IPTN. The oversight will encompass a visit to IPTN routes, stations, as well as bus depot.
