Parliament, Monday, 1 February 2021 – The Select Committee on Finance will tomorrow morning hold a two-hour virtual meeting, from 09:30 to 12:00, to be briefed by the National Treasury on the Audit Profession Amendment Bill [B2-2020].
The Bill was first processed by the Standing Committee on Finance, which adopted a committee report on 17 November 2020. It was later debated and adopted by the National Assembly on 2 December 2020.
The Bill is to amend the Auditing Profession Act of 2005, so as to insert a definition and, amongst other things, to strengthen the governance of the regulatory board, and to strengthen investigating and disciplinary processes.
