Parliament, Monday, 3 May 2021 – The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (Scopa) will tomorrow begin oversight visits in the Eastern Cape municipalities. The committee will tomorrow visit the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, Amathole District Municipality, OR Tambo and Enoch Mgijima Local Municipalities.

The aim of the oversight visit is to follow up on the Auditor-General’s audit outcome for the 2018/19 financial year and look at investigations that are being conducted, including the Special Investigations Unit report.

The committee will also check consequence management measures that have been applied and whether there is sound financial management and accounting at these municipalities.

Date: Tuesday, 4 May 2021 - Amathole District Municipality and Buffalo City Metro
Time: 14:00 – 18:00
