Parliament, Thursday, 25 February 2021 – The Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources and Energy will from tomorrow, 26 February 2021, embark on a three-day oversite visit in the Western Cape.
It will begin at the Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF) storage facility in Saldanha, whereby it will be briefed by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy on the recent High Court decision relating to the sale of strategic fuel stock.
On Saturday, the committee will visit the Koeberg Nuclear Power Plant in Melkbosstrand, near Cape Town. On Sunday, it will visit the SFF storage facility in Milnerton and later on be briefed on the solar water heating programme by the department and the Central Energy Fund at the PetroSA head office in Parrow.
Members of the media are welcome to join the committee throughout.
