Parliament, Monday 4 February 2019- Parliament invites members of the media to attend a dialogue on the State of the Nation and its rules and procedures, scheduled for 05 February 2019 from 09h30 to 10h30 at Committee Room E249 in Parliament.

The State of the Nation Address, a joint sitting of the two Houses of Parliament that brings together the three arms of the State under one roof, is a key national event called by the Head of the State in terms of the Constitution.

The dialogue is intended to, amongst others, unpack the significance of SONA, the administration of the joint sitting and the associated rules, conventions and traditions which are an expression of our democratic constitutional order.
