Parliament, Tuesday, 25 November 2025 – The Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour will convene tomorrow, Wednesday, 26 November 2025, to receive an update on the investigation into the collapse of a four-storey building during construction on 6 May 2024 at 75 Victoria Street, George, Western Cape. The incident resulted in the deaths and injuries of 77 workers, the majority of whom were foreign nationals.
The Department of Employment and Labour, the Compensation Fund and the Unemployment Insurance Fund with brief the committee on the status of the investigation and the measures being taken to address the matter.
