Parliament, Monday, 12 April 2021 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Ms Faith Muthambi, will from tomorrow lead a delegation that will embark on an oversight visit to the Limpopo Province’s Vhembe District Municipality to assess the state of service delivery in the district.

The delegation includes representatives from the Department of Traditional Affairs, and the Limpopo Provincial Government’s Department of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) and senior officials of the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

The delegation will receive briefings from the district on the state of water service delivery in the selected communities that the delegation is going to visit, from Musina and Thulamela local municipalities on the state of service delivery in the areas that include tribal authorities; from the Limpopo Provincial Government’s Department of CoGHSTA on the implementation of the Tools of Trade Framework and infrastructure projects in the tribal authorities, including the status of the housing projects.

The delegation has asked the officials of the National Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs to accompany it in order to respond to questions on service delivery that might arise from the briefings.
