Parliament, Thursday, 26 August 2021 – Parliament will tomorrow host the 2021 Women’s Parliament under the theme “Advancing Gender Equality, Through Inclusive Economic Growth and the precepts of a Capable Developmental State”.

The hybrid session will focus on three broad thematic areas:

  • For Oversight Continuity and Report Back Purposes:

-Report Back on Progress on the implementation of the Emergency Response Action Plan (Focus on targets not met)
-The National Strategic Plan Gender Based Violence and Femicide Institutionalization and Implementation progress
-Key Undertakings and Recommendations emanating from the 2020 Women’s Parliament

  • Advancing Gender Equality through Inclusive Economic Growth:

-Localising the Implementation of the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan (ERRP), Entrenching a gender perspective in the roll out of the ERRP, taking cognizance of the gendered impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the economy and the disproportionate impact of poverty and inequality on women

  • Advancing Gender Equality under the Auspices of a Capable Developmental State
