Parliament, Monday 24 January 2022 –The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will, this week, hold a three-day virtual training workshop for its permanent delegates. The training which is scheduled to start tomorrow, 25 January, will amongst others deal with the new Rules which have recently been concluded by the House.

Tomorrow’s session will focus on the consequence of amending the rules of the NCOP and regulations relating to the appointment and functions of whips.

The Wednesday session will deal with a practical overview of the rules governing the practices and processes of Committees.

The last session on Thursday will focus on capacity development and support system for Members of Parliament and the State of the Nation Address arrangements.

The training workshop will also consider the role of Whippery in political coordination between Provincial Delegations and Legislatures.

Parliament continue to demonstrate its resilience to fulfil its constitutional mandate even after the fire outbreak.
