Parliament, Tuesday 7 September 2021 – Tomorrow morning, at 10 am, the National Assembly (NA) hybrid plenary sitting will consider the following committee reports:

  • Report of the PC on Police: Appointment and introduction of National Forensics Oversight and Ethics Board (DNA Board)
  • Report of the PC on Police: the interviews for candidates for Critical Infrastructure Council on 8-10 June 2021
  • Report of the PC on Police: Petition of Mrs Nicky Kinnear on the death of her husband, Lt Colonel Charl Kinnear

The afternoon session, starting at 15:00, will have an oral questions session with Ministers in the Economics Cluster. The Cluster comprises of Finance; Communications and Digital Technologies; Employment and Labour; Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment; Mineral Resources and Energy.

Section 92(2) of the Constitution stipulates that cabinet members are accountable collectively and individually to Parliament for the exercise of their powers and performance of their functions. Parliament uses a range of instruments to hold the executive accountable.
