Parliament, Thursday, 17 August 2017 – The Madibeng Local Municipality will tomorrow (Friday, 18 August) be the fifth and last North West municipality whose housing delivery programmes will be scrutinised by the Portfolio Committee on Human Settlements.
The Committee is on a week-long oversight function assessing housing delivery in the North West province. The Committee kicked off its programme on Monday in Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, and then moved to the City of Matlosana on Tuesday. The Committee also visited the Moses Kotane Local Municipality on Wednesday and today it inspected housing projects in the Rustenburg Local Municipality.
The programme in Madibeng will start at 09h00, with a briefing from the municipality, provincial and national Departments of Human Settlements. The Committee will then proceed to visit housing projects in Lethabong, Sunset Bay and Majakaneng, among other places.
